Jane sent us this update in August of 2011:

I am unable to attend the reunion this year and hope it goes well. This past year, as you probably know, mom passed away after a difficult four years battling dementia. David and I and all our children plus our various spouses, met in Martha’s Vineyard to scatter both mom and dad‘s ashes in the ocean near the Menemsha area in which we spent our summers. It was a wonderful ‘coming together’ of our family – which has not happened for 12 years!

Briefly about me: I continue to live in St. Cloud, MN – essentially ‘Lake Wobegon’ of the Prairie Home Companion. I have moved into the early childhood mental health field, which is a growing field in the country, and provides me with many opportunities to do lots of very interesting work. I have a small private practice as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who specializes in children birth to age five and their parents and I work through a school district Early Childhood Family Education program as their Early Childhood Mental Health Specialist. I do some teaching through the University of Minnesota and at St. Cloud State University, and manage a project that embeds early childhood mental health into existing early childhood services. I am too busy! Glen and I have now been married for 34 years, and our three children are doing very well – we feel extremely lucky at this moment in our lives. We travel regularly (once every other year or so) to visit our daughter who lives in England, and have begun to meet her in various European countries – so we find time to have lots of fun too. Just got back from Italy – where we were able to retrace the steps mom and dad took when they went to Italy 35 years ago and kept a journal, when mom was the same age that I am now!

Life is good at the moment – we are all essentially happy and healthy. We don’t take that for granted, and try to really appreciate what we have.
