Edith Pattou Emery is a graduate of Scripps College, with an M.A. in English literature from Claremont Graduate School and an M.L.S. from UCLA.

A writer of fiction for children, she writes:

From Mrs. Moulton’s ‘So whats’ to Barr McCutcheoris densely imaginative math clubs to Mr. Idol’s vigorous experiments in media, many of the teachers at Parker helped to spark in me a reverence for exploration, for questioning.

She and her husband, Charles, have one child, Victoria “Vita” (age 5 1/2). “Vita,” she writes, “is in kindergarten and wants to be an artist and an art teacher when she grows up.
