Joel Hoffman received his bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Wales in Great Britain and his M.M. and D.M.A degrees from Juilliard.

A composer, pianist and educator, he says that his interests are Italian culture (“I spend several months each year in Florence”) and traditional jewish culture (“I’m discovering my roots”).

What he values from his Parker experience was “the nurturing of independent thinking; the stimulation of a high-level yet supportive environment; and the presence of faculty that served as exceptionally fine role models.”

He adds, “I will be in Italy during the reunion, and I’m very sorry not to be able to make it”

He and his wife, Dorotea, have two children, Benjamin (6) and Natania (4). “Both kids are a joy!” he writes. “They are already starting on musical instruments: Benjamin, piano and Violin; Natania, cello.”
